I love organizing parties for my children. They’re crazy and manic to put together and I always go overboard, but man….I do love organizing those parties for my children.

Over the summer, I threw my eldest daughter a Movie themed sleepover party – with gold door streamers, film reels dangling from the ceiling, lights, camera, action wall decals & one too many gold & black balloons sprinkled around the place.  It was so much fun to put together & after the party bus, it was somewhere for the girls to hang out and dance their socks off!

It was so much fun to put together and after the party bus, it was somewhere for the girls to relax, hang out and as tween girls are; dance their socks off!

Aside from the decorating {which I find the most fun!} I put together a fun spread for the party girl and her attendees. The theme of her party being ‘at the movies,’ we had a delicious table of goodies lined up for the girls to enjoy – this included the super cool Dinky Diner candy floss maker

I love the retro design of this candy floss maker. It reminds me of that old American diner feel? Very Happy Days – so we love that. It was very easy to put together – you mainly just assemble the bowl and set the metal disc spinner in the center and that’s it assembled. So as I said, very simple.

You plug it in, let it heat up for a good five minutes before you make your first candy floss. You do get a few sticks with candy floss maker which is handy, however, you’ll need some candy floss sugar {obviously!} – I bought mine from Amazon.

I also bought extra candy floss sticks too, because you know, endless candy floss requests and this Mama needed to be prepared! You’re also supplied with a little candy floss sugar scoop – however, I personally found pouring the sugar into the center of the candy floss maker a little easier. Maybe that’s just me.

Once you’ve let it heat up for 5 minutes, you turn it off, add your sugar and then turn it back on again. I don’t need to tell you what happens if you add the sugar as the candy floss maker is spinning!

Almost immediately you’ll see the candy floss being spun {which when we did it for the first time, it was pretty exciting!}. However, if you’re like us and had never made a candy floss in your life – it’s harder than it looks! But after a few failed and very poor looking candy flosses, we got the hang of it. I’m not saying I’m a pro, but they come out looking pretty spectacular if I do say so myself! The bigger the candy floss, the better!

You’re meant to spin the stick around the inside rim of the bowl whilst gently turning the stick as well. However, I personally found it easier with this maker to hold the stick above and catch the candy floss and make it from above. But I think we all find ways to suit ourselves, but this way works a treat for me.

Nothing beats the taste of freshly spun candy floss and we have used ours many times since Ellie turned twelve. We’ve used it at family BBQs and on movie nights. And F.Y.I about the sugar I bought? Not only does it taste delicious but it lasts for ages too! I may have to invest in some different colours/flavours and make some spooky candy floss for Halloween and even some Christmas coloured ones {with added edible glitter – after it’s been spun, obviously!} for added festive effect!

Oh wow I would LOVE this!! I love candy floss, even though I know it’s really bad for you, and nothing beats real candy floss when it’s still warm!

The picture of the kids is literally the best thing ever haha! My daughter keeps on asking for us to get a candyfloss maker but I was worried it was going to be really hard to use, from what you’re saying it isn’t too bad so I might actually get one x
