Cordial love through the Winter months

As a busy Mum if there is anything I like to make sure that I fit into my busy day, is the fact that I drink enough fluids. It’s so easy to have the hours whizz by and to completely forget about yourself. I for one, am guilty of that on a daily basis. But through the Winter months, it’s so important to keep yourself hydrated so why not doing it with something a little more fun than just water. We’ve always been a cordial family, my partner more than the rest of us if I’m completely honest, but adding…

Classic shortbread with Clover

Ever since I was a little girl I have fond memories of baking in the kitchen with my Mum and around this time of year, it was always shortbread. Shortbread is such a classic buttery Scottish biscuit and always goes down well with everyone. Obviously, with this buttery biscuit, one of the main ingredients is….surprise surprise, butter! However I always used a baking butter before, so when I was asked to use Clover I was interested to see if they would taste any different. Now the one thing I noticed about Clover¬†butter, in particular, was all of the helpful points…

Toddler Treats – Cinnamon French Toast Sticks!

I think it’s safe to say that our firm family mealtime favourite,¬†is French toast! It’s even got to the stage where I don’t even have to make it – how epic is that! It doesn’t happen too often {rarely in fact} so this, for me personally, is a real treat! So for this Toddler Treat, I bring to you, a little French toast twist: Cinnamon…

Rhubarb & Custard Butterfly buns – Recipe!

When I was wee ¬†I remember with the fondest of memories, my Mother baking in the kitchen. I have quite vivid memories of her happily baking, and she was forever rustling up cakes & buns for us to indulge in when we had visitors come round. One treat, in particular, I remember her baking quite often was the infamous butterfly bun. As a child {and even now at the grand age of 34!}¬†I loved to remove the wings, scoop up a dollop of¬†buttercream &¬†enjoy the life out of that thing! They were a gorgeous treat and I love that on…

A chocolate & vanilla cheesecake with Dr Oekter!

Ok, it’s no news that I love chocolate but I also love baking and ever since I started baking Dr Oekter has been a main constant throughout my baking timeline. Everything from chocolate stars, sprinkles and rice daisies but the one thing I’d never used, was their chocolate. So I thought being a cheesecake loving family, we’d have a go at using an ingredient such as Dr Oekter chocolate for our latest bake. So collaborating with Tots 100¬†I was sent out a fabulous Dr Oekter hamper full of chocolate related goodies to make something for¬†us to enjoy and you guys…

Nutella Cheesecake Recipe!

When I look back at the recipes I’ve done over the last year,¬†a few¬†of them seem to include Nutella. It seems that I may have some sort of true love for the stuff, who knows. But when I saw the recipe for Nutella cheesecake I just had to give it a go! As when it comes to cheesecakes I’ve only ever made my mint aero cheesecake which, not to be biased or anything,¬†it’s DELICIOUS! Ingredients: – 250g Digestive biscuits {crushed} – 75g of soft unsalted butter – 1x400g jar of Nutella {at room temperature} – 100g of chopped toasted hazelnuts…
