Tesco Taste Festival at Custom House Square, Belfast

Last weekend the family & I went along to the annual Tesco Taste Festival that was based in Custom House Square, Belfast. Luckily the weather was playing nice so we were able to enjoy everything going on outside, as much as inside too.  Before going to the event, I was given a Food & Drink passport from Tesco and challenged to eat our way around Northern Ireland – what a challenge, right? I was given a list of places we needed to visit and collect stamps from said vendors etc. It was a lot of fun. Inside the tent was…

Minevention, Belfast 2017!

A few weekends ago, the kids & I attended a Minevention Plus event in the Titanic Exhibition Centre, Belfast. We are all huge Minecraft gamers in our household and it would cool to be attending an event evolved around that.  Aside from it being Minecraft orientated, there was going to be gaming stations, retro gaming stations {my favourite!}, main stage build battles, gaming buses {one of which was a double decker!} with an amazing selection of YouTubers attending for meet & greets. There was also going to a costume contest, Bricks 4 Kidz, Cool FM keeping the beats going and…

A shopping experience in Rushmere Shopping Centre ahead of National Children’s Day

I have lived in Northern Ireland for most of my life and there are still so many places that I haven’t visited. I find that crazy. Northern Ireland isn’t the biggest of islands so it’s surprising to me that so much of it is still a mystery. However, recently I was offered the opportunity to visit and have a little shopping experience at Rushmere Shopping Centre, in Craigavon all ahead of National Children’s Day on Sunday 14th May.  I had never been to Craigavon before and it was so nice as a nondriver, for it to be so easy to…

A Circus made for theatre | Cirque Berserk UK

As a child, I loved being taken to the circus when it was in town; and now that I’m the parent, I love taking my own children now too. The stunts, the atmosphere, even those light-up twirly things the children love waving around; the whole shebang! Here in Belfast, there’s a new Circus in town, a circus made for theatre – Cirque Berserk and it’s being shown at the Grand Opera House in Belfast {until March 5th 2017}. You can find where they will be next here and where their outstanding show will be played until the end of their tour…

A tour of the newly refurbished Tesco store in Newtownbreda

Quite recently I was sent the most amazing hamper of Northern Irish produce to celebrate Tesco NI being open, here on our gorgeous little island of Northern Ireland, for twenty years! Happy 20th Anniversary Tesco NI! If I am honest, I had no idea that we had no much local produce and not to be biased, but it all tasted amazing! I mean, those snowballs from Graham’s Bakery went down an absolute treat over a few cups of tea {and that was just for starters!}. Anyway, before I make you all hungry by going on about all of the tasty treats…

Saving money with Lynas Food Outlet – Review

As a parent to a large family, feeding them can sometimes be a real strain on the bank balance – even more so when my children seem to be on a permanent growth spurt because they never seem to stop eating! However, to help me balance my food budget better and to see if I could save a penny or three, I was kindly invited along to the newly opened Lynas Food Outlet in Belfast to have my own little walk around the store and a shopping experience too. In my usual places to shop I have been bouncing from one…

My Odeon Screen Unseen experience

Just before Christmas, I was approached by Studio Canal with a very secretive & quite exciting opportunity to go and experience an Odeon screen unseen movie at my local cinema. The ‘screen unseen’ part is basically going to see an exclusive preview screening and you have no idea what movie you’re seeing until those curtains go up! The other thing I loved about going to a screen unseen viewing was knowing that we would be one of the few people around the country to be seeing this movie first and the movies they show are always guaranteed to get you talking and excited!…

Our time at Culture Night at Belfast Harbour.

This week my children and I were lucky enough to be invited along to the Culture Night event in Belfast City centre. A series of events were organised and sponsored by Belfast Harbour during the day, as a build-up to the event. We were even lucky enough to have the sun join us too! The first event kicked off at 1 pm round in Barrow Square in the form of a great Samba band. The drums, rhythm and overall atmosphere was really fun and I loved that my children enjoyed the music too. It wasn’t anything they’ve ever heard before…
