Budget Bride October Issue – Photography & DIY Photobooths!

Bridal-Shower-Clipart-For-Invitations-30Hey everyone!

Welcome back to Octobers edition of my Budget Bride series. Did you catch the last instalment about wedding invitation inspiration {on a budget} and also I gave a little sneak peek into what our wedding invitations will look like too! So pop over there for a catch-up & a nosy if this is your first time popping over to Budget Bride.

This month is all about photography & photobooths! Now, I love photography and I have a list as long as my arm for a new lens, super cool camera bags for my own DSLR, and not to mention that all-important upgrade that she so desperately needs. However I can’t exactly lug my own DSLR about with me on my own wedding day {although I have been tempted!}.

Aside from the temptation of using tripods, shutter release buttons to do our own photos {I have considered it!} all due to photographers being seriously overpriced! I’m sure you’ll agree! So keep an eye out for budding Wedding photographers, they’re are LOADS hiding under rocks out there just waiting to be discovered and their fee is usually a fraction of what a fully fledged Wedding photographer would charge. Also, try family members and friends! If any are handy with a camera, take a great shot and they have the confidence to do a good job, then get them on board!

Now, you’re most likely thinking “But I’d like an album too!” and this is also possible on a budget! Shocker, I know! But thanks to websites such as Photobox, you can now make your own Wedding album from your digital Wedding prints {provided on an SD card or USB flash drive} in whatever way you please. Minus the £££ of what a Wedding photographer would charge!

But aside from needing a photographer, one thing I really want at our Wedding is a Photobooth but I don’t think we can afford it. So, enter Budget Bride with inspiration galore for everything from affordable camera equipment to fun props and backdrops ideas.
Wedding DIY backdrop 1Backdrops can be made up with an array of exciting bits, from tissue pom poms to plastic tablecloths {I know, right! And they look fabulous!}, Ribbon, Old records, Paper doilies, the list goes on. Anything is possible! Also, in case you were wondering, the frames can be bought for under £20 too!
Photobooth DIY backdrop 2I  have a glorious DIY Photobooth Backdrop board over on my Pinterest, so feel free to follow. More pins will be updated as and when I find them.

As for props, the ideas are quite frankly…endless!  From goofy eyes, emoticons face masks, comic speech bubbles and so.much.more. All of these props are inexpensive and add lots of fun to your photo booth.

PicMonkey CollageYou don’t need to stop at funny face masks you can DIY a whole array of photo booth props! Gosh, you could make flower crowns, depending on the time of year you could incorporate Easter related props if getting wed in April, Spooky props for October weddings and even Festive props for December weddings, so you get the jist!

Now doing your own DIY photo booth you’ll need more than a backdrop and photo props, having your own camera is required too! I did a review on a fabulous FujiFilm 300 WIDE Instax Wedding Bundle a while ago and it’s our saving grace when putting together our own DIY photo booth. It’s a great instant camera and I cannot wait to see it in action on our Wedding day.

Love these ideas. We are far from being able to set a date for our wedding but I often think about what I would like our wedding to be like and I have always said I want a photobooth and love how these DIY ones look….will have to remember them for our wedding if we ever get there! I am all for doing things on a budget and think it is amazing how good things can be even on a budget.

Love this! We booked a photo booth for our wedding in December, but then my hubby found out he was being made redundant on the 31st December so made me cancel it 🙁 instead I bought a few props for the tables and a cardboard frame for people to hold up. It wasn’t really used in the end which was a shame, but I got a nice photo with it! Xx
