Budget Bride – June Issue – Introduction!

June issue budget brideWelcome to my new series! Wooohooo! This is so exciting to share with you guys because I’m going to take you on a journey, which will place you right alongside me as I only go and organise/plan my OWN wedding!

Exciting right?

I hope you think so because I am fit-to-BURST with ideas, inspiration to bounce off and share with you guys and hopefully share some amazing products with you along the way.

So yes, Budget Bride, I’ve called it this because that’s exactly who I am aiming to target. Brides on a budget. Weddings are so far from cheap these days that it would make you weep. Am I wrong? No! Of course I’m not. But it is possible to throw a truly stunning wedding on a budget without all of those fancy bells & whistles.
PicMonkey CollageThe darling man and I have a budget of around £5,000 {and that’s stretching it!} so naturally I’m constantly on idea overdrive on how I’m going to get our dream wedding compressed into our budget.
You see these weddings that couples have spent the guts of £20,000+ on, and I’m sorry, but I think that is utter bonkers! I’m all for making it the most special day of your life and all, but you really don’t need to spend all that money to make it happen & I’m a firm believer in that.

What theme have I mapped out for our wedding? A cute, relaxed SO-NON-TRADITIONAL-WEDDING-ATMOSPHERE, country fete style Wedding day. Pretty bunting, fairy lights, pink lemonade, lawn games, a BBQ {I actually despise sit down meals at weddings! Especially with your children. Actual nightmare!}. Hay bale sofas with cushions, a bouncy castle and whatever else I can squeeze in to be fabulous. And guess what? All on a budget too!
So I hope you’ll check back with #Budget Bride next month to see what my first budget bride tips and products to keep in mind will be.

A little hint….it will be all about invitations and a little Bridal DIY! *wink*

Love this! I’m currently planning my wedding (only 3 months to go eek) and its so expensive and hard work haha. Love your theme xx

Love this. We got married in August and I was trying to keep costs down. Invites for about 80 people companies were charging us £250+ for basic ones. Instead I went on ebay and bought 150 old pelican books for £39.99 including delivery and printed out library cards and invites myself to go inside the front covers, wrapped them up in brown parcel paper tied up with string and sent them out. In total it probably cost me £120 so under half what companies were charging and everyone said it was the best invite they had received. I can’t wait to see what you are doing to keep costs down. 🙂 x

I would love to be planning a wedding again, especially with all the great resources like Pinterest that weren’t about when we got married. I will be following this with great interest as I love a good wedding xxx

Love this, and I love the sound of your wedding – sounds perfect! I got married in 2002 and we had a teeny budget of £2000 but we managed to pull off a lovely day, I agree, I don’t see the point in spending thousands on one day! x

First of all, congrats!!! How exciting. Second, I think that it is utterly brilliant of you to do it yourself as much as you can. It can be a wedding that you love and not cost you an arm and a leg! Looking forward to seeing your plans!

I hate being too promotional, so don’t make this visible if you choose, but would love to have you link up to “What are you working on?” Wednesday, I love your project and want to share it! On my blog. You have the link.
