Britmums, Bubbles & Sunshine – #LittleLoves!

Unless you have been on the moon with Steve this passed week, then you’ll be very aware that last weekend was Britmums Live! I was so excited to be there among a great sea of amazing bloggers, to be inspired, to laugh, cry and have an overall, epic time!

The last 7 days have been somewhat of a whirlwind. From one on one time with my eldest girl, going out for food, her having an absolute blast while she whizzes around the department stores spending her birthday money, flying to London to attend the most prestigious blogging conference of the YEAR, being so inspired that I may actually burst and so much more.

So with all of that busyness in mind, let me share this weeks #LittleLoves.

This week I finally got my hands on the much enjoyed modern mums magazine, Gurgle. I’d never seen it in my local WHSmiths or Easons stores but on my return from Britmums I noticed a copy at the convenience store in Luton airport. WIN! So I picked it up and I couldn’t wait to give it a read. Although it wasn’t until the next day that I could actually sit down to enjoy it over lunch. Joys of travelling with friends and endless jibber jabber.
As well as watching many amazing bloggers/speakers give some excellent and insightful sessions on all sorts of inspiring ways to help my blog…I’ve watched my children. I missed them while I was away, so it was pretty amazing coming home to them, and even a little sunshine too.
Shockingly….a dress! Dresses aren’t my usual attire and even though I’m the board short, gamer tee wearer girl, that doesn’t mean to say when I look at dresses I wish they looked as good on me as they do others. Because I do! But, when I was out shopping with my daughter I spied a stripy dress and it looked perfect.

My girl urged me to ‘take a risk’ and just buy it, so I did. I even packed it for Britmums and even though I didn’t expect to wear it, I ever expected to forget my spare pair of jeans that cornered me into having to wear said dress. Oh fate has a funny way of working eh! It got me into a dress!
IMG_20150627_212144[1]However once Britmums on the Saturday was over {& my day in a dress!}, you so know I got back into my board shorts and rocked the shizzle out of my favourite tee of all time. I’m somewhat of a long term fan! 😉
The excited chatter of my eldest girl coming home from school one day and telling me all about her school trip to a not-so-local high school that she is considering for next year. OMG! High school! It’s hard to digest that next September will be her first year as a first year in secondary school. Yeesh! That’s a hard reality to grasp hold of I’ll tell you that! Next year I’ll have three of my kids in high school with one in his 6th form year! *feels old*

But hearing her so excited is amazing because when I approached her about this high school she wasn’t sure because she’d have to take a train then a school bus to get there. Which lets face it. Its farther than the ability to walk down the road, but I didn’t want her to just settle for a more convenient school, you know? So I’m really pleased to hear she loved it, came home really excited and she’s now looking forward to having a proper look round in the new year at their open day.
Some tasty things which I will share on my blog SOON! I know it’s been FOREVER since my last recipe post…but they’re coming back {including my Toddler Treats series!!} and I’m excited to share things with you guys!
f2783552I’ve also made my children laugh {does that count?} and feel safe. Little Belle is currently caught in a whirlwind of insecurities and in need of lots of reassurance at the moment. It’s just a phase but these wee phases seem to get stronger each time they come round. Thankfully they don’t last long before she’s bounced back to be brave and ballsy again.

But the laughter was amazing. Isn’t that just the best sound in the world? Those proper, full blown belly chuckles that they get lost in and look like they could explode with happiness? Well those are what I made this week, with a little help from bubbles! Who doesn’t love bubbles!!

And lastly…

Everyone loves bubbles! 🙂 I have never bought gurgle, is it much different to the other baby magazines? After I bought baby/parent magazines all time when I had Hayden, I just got bored of them all being the same! I too love the sound of children’s laughter. It is infectious! Hayden has a habit of doing it at really inappropriate times though (apparently quite common in autism) It is hard to enjoy a belly laugh at 3am! x

I always am! haha! D’aww thanks, what a sweet thing to say! I wish I felt comfortable in one, but I tend to feel like I’m playing dress-up! lol. Glad to hear that you’ll be at next years Britmums!! x

Looks like you had great fun at Britmums Live. I’ve not read the mag you’ve featured here I figured now at 7 and 4 they aren’t aimed at me anymore! Not seen this one. You do look lovely in the dress but I totally understand you I’m more of a jeans girl!

Britmums Live was epic actually. I found it to be SO much more fun than last years. The Gurgle magazine is good actually and I found it a little different from other magazines.

I rarely wear dresses either. I really need to start doing more often. Bubbles are great fun. My daughter loves them too. Children’s laughter really is the nicest sound.

What a full on and lovely week. I can’t get over how time passes with our children; they grow so quickly though it doesn’t always seem like it in each moment. And isn’t it lovely to go away to an action packed day and then come home to family. Home is where our heart rests, hey! #SundayStars

That dress looks fab, it really suits you!
I’m not really one for a ‘parent’ magazine, but Gurgle really won me over, it’s great isn’t it?
Hope you’ve had a good week this week, so sorry in being so late in popping over and commenting xx

I love the bubbles picture! I should get one of those little machines for my youngest, he would love it. Who am I kidding even the teens would love it lol! You look fab in that dress, shame we didn’t bump into each other at Britmums, maybe next year. Thanks for linking up with #SundayStars x
