Books & Stationery galore, at The Works!

There is always one shop that I can count on for all kinds of stationery books, craft bits, reading books, recipe cards and so much more. The Works is without a doubt one of my all time favourite stores. It’s the best shop for anyone with a children’s storybook and/or a stationery addiction. I have both!

They have scores & scores of children’s storybooks to choose from and I love that they will change every so often. Giving us new and exciting titles to choose from. My youngest daughter loves choosing new books to add to her collection each time we visit the store.

Aside from children’s books, The Works have an amazing range of stationery goods; everything from sketch pads, charcoal pencils, watercolour paints, easels and quite frankly, I could go on. My eldest girl loves to draw, in fact, it’s all she ever does! The Works provides everything my little doodler could ever need and I love, as the paying parent, how affordable it all is.

On our recent visit to our local store we bought a selection of new books {no surprises there!}, a replacement fidget spinner and a case for my son, as well as a display file to hold all of my daughter’s stray drawings.

I have never seen these fidget spinner cases before and even though they cost £1 more than the fidget spinner itself, I knew it would be an investment. My son recently spent a good portion of his pocket money {£10} on a heavy duty fidget spinner, which broke after having it for one week. I think these fidget spinner cases are a neat idea, and my son was pleased to have one bought for him alongside his new chrome fidget spinner.

I can see me buying quite a few more of these in the distant future because as I said earlier in the post, my daughter literally never stops doodling. She has sketch pad after sketchpad filled with her creative doodles and now she is onto individual sheets of paper. So these A4 display books are great and will hold up to 40 of her drawings – keeping them all neat & tidy & not just strewn all over the place {as per!}.

Lastly, I saw these gorgeous little guys on social media a few weeks ago, completely forgot about them {naturally} so once I spotted the Worry Monster I knew it had to come home with us. My kids are huge worry warts, my eldest daughter in particular. Going to sleep, or at the very least trying to get a good night sleep with worries hanging over you is never good. Which is why I love the idea of these cute little Worry Monsters.

The idea is, you write down all of your worries before you settle down to go to sleep, pop those worries into the Worry Monster’s belly. Then as your child sleeps at night, you sneak in, like the ninja that you are, and remove the worries. When morning comes your child’s worries will ‘in theory’ have vanished. It’s a cute idea, don’t you think?

Are you a fan of The Works, I’d love to hear what you go in to shop for! Let me know in the comments below.
