#Legotothemovies with George at Asda!

Just before Christmas, George at Asda got in touch with a lovely opportunity for us to join in with their #LegoToTheMovies campaign & to visit our local cinema to watch Star Wars – The Force Awakens! Being one of the most anticipated movies for decades, for me,  it was one of the most exciting blog jobs in the whole of 2015. As well as sending us the movies, George at Asda very kindly sent us a cool Lego set to build too.

The way we worked it was, my daughter {being the master builder of the household} was going to build the Jedi Scout Fighter that she chose while Jacob & I went to view the movie.

Ellie’s not a big Star Wars fan it seems {I’ll have to remedy that!} but nevertheless, she was pretty happy to have the building job as we went off to fill our faces with popcorn as we drooled over laser guns and epic theme tune nostalgia!

Needless to say, the movie was everything my hopes and expectations had built it up to be, and then some! There were so many parts that I wanted to whoop into the darkness and fist pump the air because it was all kinds of amazing and I think even if you’re not a Star wars fan – it’s impossible to not enjoy this movie!

As for the lego build, well, Ellie had that Jedi scout fighter built by the time we came home and she was pretty proud of it too – and rightly so!

Ellie gave me a good viewing of the Jedi scout fighter and everything it did and the little lego characters it came with. It was pretty adorable seeing her so excited about her latest build.

We really enjoyed joining in with the #LegoToTheMovies campaign with George at Asda and now all we need to do is to go and see Star Wars – The Force Awakens again because it was so amazing! *makes light saber related noises*

Disclosure: George at Asda very kindly paid for my son & I to go to the cinema and also sent us a Star wars Lego set for the purpose of this #LegoToTheMovies campaign & review. All thoughts, photos and opinions are my own.

I have already seen the movie twice and I love it. The lego set looks awesome and I know it would have got a lot of attention if we had had it over Christmas! x

She has great patience to build all that. I am not a star wars fan myself I have to admit.

I’m not really into Star Wars but Lego is always a winner! Plus I’ve heard great things about the newest film!

What a great job! As you know Ben got the same kit for Christmas and it took him many hours to build (but then he is considerably younger!)

How talented is your daughter?! Not sure I could have knocked up that model so efficiently! Have heard great things about this film, and your endorsement makes me even more keen to go. May the force be with you.

Oh wow, that Lego looks awesome! We are a Star Wars AND Lego mad house here! I haven’t seen the film yet; Ian went with all the kids but I had to stay home with Jude as he’s too little. Ian and I are going this weekend 🙂

the LEGO is great! We loved the film too. We went with my sister in law that has never seen any Star Wars and she loved it too, so you’re right, its hard not to love the film! #MMWBH

What a lovely way to spend time with your family. Your Ellie is such a master builder and that lego set is brilliant. I love how detailed the design is (that R2D2 was the perfect touch!)

Sad to say, I have yet to see the Star Wars film. I’m hoping my husband and I can find someone to watch our daughter so we can sneak away for a few hours and see it. Thanks so much for sharing, Debs and for hosting us on #mmwbh. Have a fantastic rest of the day!

I’ve been twice so far. What an awesome campaign for you to snag. congrats

We seem to be the only Star Wars free house around! Glad you enjoyed it though. Even OH shows no interest – The Lego would go down a treat here though. Massive builders in this house x

I’m not a Star Wars fan so sent the hubby off to see it with my sis! Although he did say it was brilliant so maybe I should have gone! This lego set looks awesome though, I can’t wait for my two to get into lego when they are a little older x

Wow – she did a great job at building what looks like a really complicated set. All our friends are buzzing about Star Wars so although we’re not fans, we might still check it out. #MMWBH

Wow! You lucky thing! This is an amazing blogging task 🙂 I love Star Wars, my kids are too young for the lego at the moment though. #MMWBH

I’m not a Star Wars fan but OH had his ticket for midnight opening night! Very impressed by Ellie’s building skills! #MMWBH

OMG it was amaaaaaaaze wasn’t it?! I had goosebumps and tears and a thousand different points. My son is a little too young to be into it yet (5) but him and my daughter will have it “forced” on them when they’re old enough..heehee! And then yes…. Star Wars and Lego are such a perfect combo. And (you know me…gotta get the gender points in!) I LOVE that Star Wars AND lego appeal to both sexes. Well done Ellie for getting stuck in too!

We’ve not been to see the film as yet. No babysitters to look after Rowan unfortunately. Although I did suggest we go separately and my other half has so far declined!

Heh, looks like you both had good reason to enjoy Star Wars! Now I really must get out and actually see it …

  26. 11/01/2016 / 2:40 PM

I’m desperate to go and see the new Star Wars film, need to get my milk supply up so I can leave Henry for a couple of hours… My Mum is such a massive fan (like we were dragged to conventions and she would dress us up as the characters) and so we were brought up on it. Even Darcie asked her Granny if she could watch it and is now a fan at 3 and a half!! This lego set looks fab, great for any Star Wars fanatic (of any age!) xxx

Oh my gosh! I don’t think i’d have the patience for this kind of thing haha. I’d lose half the pieces before I even started lol. Looks like they had lots of fun building it 🙂 x

Many people have been going on & on about Star wars haha! My partner went to watch it in Cinema last Friday – he enjoyed it.
What a great experience to have through your blog though! The lego is something my little brother would absolutely love!
