Siblings project {October 2016}

Somehow I’ve blinked and the trees are starting to change colour, the children’s half term time is looming, so naturally it could only mean one thing; it’s October! Now, I know we’re already more than half way through that month, but remember I said, “somehow I’ve blinked!”. Yeah!

I’m a little behind with sharing recent Siblings project posts and shamefully {and I’m more frustrated at myself for not seeing the year through with my monthly Siblings posts} I don’t think I’ve done one since like, July or August maybe? I can’t quite remember! Also, September was just one big blur from wedding day craziness, so I can totally give myself a pass for that one.

However, a big {yet delayed!} hello to October and as per usual, I’m a few days late in sharing my sibling’s post this month! I’m coming to the realization that I am totally a better-late-than-never kind of woman, and my little and not-so-little siblings are all doing great. Admittedly we’ve been up to our eyeballs in bickering, the usual spats of he said, she said, he did this to me blah blah blah. But, as a parent you tend to develop a mode to just turn yourself off from the incessant moaning, don’t you? You need too or you’ll actually go bonkers listening to it all.

However, I found a good distraction for that one sunny yet chilly October afternoon and all it took was for coats/hoodies to be put on, shoes put on our feet, a short walk to a nearby alleyway and to have one big, massive autumn leaf war!

This was such a fun afternoon and for such a simple activity to get involved in {the bickering soon stopped} and the whining and complaining turned into squeals of delight & laughter. And, as we say here in Northern Ireland, “You couldn’t beat that with a big stick!”. Translation: You can’t get any better than that!
