Our Wedding Countdown

Our Wedding countdown
It’s just under 6 months until our Wedding day & up until this point, I’ve been fairly relaxed, calm & collect about the whole event. But, now I have a moment to actually acknowledge that I’ll be becoming a wife, I’d be lying if I wasn’t totally bricking it.

Don’t get me wrong, I want to marry my darling man, in fact, that’s all I’ve ever wanted. But, the prospect of making everything so….legal.…is the scary part. In fact, no, that’s not the scariest part. It’s the part of walking down the aisle in front of everyone that has me freaking out. I’m not a fan of attention. It actually makes me feel super shy and gives me this overwhelming urge to hid under a rock until everyone is gone. Surely I could come through a side door, right?

But, wedding jitters aside, on the planning front? I think we’re doing quite well. I say that like the darling man has chipped in, but in reality, I have been sorting all of the little bits and pieces out here and there and he’s just in ‘man land’ and happily leaving it all up to me. The struggle I had to get him to decide on a wedding invitation {that didn’t include Pac-man or a sword-wielding boy called Link} was unreal! I think it’s better for me if I don’t ask him for his input in future. It’s less stressful that way! But I do run things by him before I purchase. I just hope that everything we’ve got goes together. Eeeep!

So, with just under six months to go what have we got sorted? Well, all of my girls have their dresses {YAY!} and I think a little shoe and accessory shopping will be planned for the summer. The boys are all going suit shopping next month which excites me MASSIVELY because I think they’re all going to look so damn handsome that I may actually burst. We don’t have our wedding bands yet {maybe I should look into this soon!?} and I still need to get my engagement ring resized because due to losing 2st it no longer fits!  I’ve got table name places and such sorted, printables for everything else {candy buffet, cards & gifts} and I am even gathering in materials to make my own photobooth backdrop. So it’s all go as you can imagine.

I love that even though this is a very small budgeted wedding {we’re pulling it off for about £3000} that we’ve been saving super hard and opted against looking into any form of wedding loans. I think we need a medal because not getting a loan means we’re going without a few things {like a photographer and cars} which I don’t hugely mind. We’d both prefer to not have something like the repayments of a loan hanging over our heads.

So, all in all, I think we’re on track and as nervous I appear to be, I’m also insanely excited.

Are you planning a wedding at the moment? Whens your big day?

Ooh how exciting! I was really nervous about walking down the aisle too, but on the day our toastmaster got us to take three slow breaths in and out and that really did the trick!

Looks like you are on the ball with everything. 6 months is still plenty of time. Our wedding would have been 29th July buy 2 weeks ago we were informed that our venue closed down. Big shock for 100 couples who were supposed to have their wedding there. This leaves us with no venue which means we are just going to postpone it for a year or two. I don’t want to go with a venue last minute that I don’t really like. Because it’s a bank holiday weekend most places are booked.
