Our Easter!

Our Easter wasn’t what we expected it would be, or hoped. However regardless of the poorly tummies, bad weather, snuffly colds and bed rest, we really did make the most of it.  After the first week of the childrens Easter break the weather was awful. Constant rainfall, high winds and we were basically stuck indoors. But the second week brought sunshine, new picnic tables, chocolate eggs & a visit from Granda Patrick!
DSC_8251 DSC_8252With poorly tummies and ill parents we honestly didn’t think we’d manage to throw the kids an Easter egg hunt ‘at Easter’ but thankfully we managed it & they had a blast!
DSC_8264DSC_8246 DSC_8286DSC_8249 (2)I felt like a big child running around the house & garden hanging up little easter bunny hunt signs and hiding golden bunnies & eggs. If we can’t act like big kids with our kids, when can we eh!
DSC_8274Annabelle wasn’t too sure if she should be eating the treats as she found them or collecting them all and trying to eat them all at once. Either way, her mind was on chocolate!
DSC_8294 DSC_8299DSC_8329Granda Patrick took time out of his busy work schedule to pop round for a visit too. The kids got treated to Easter eggs and he brought round an awesome Easter gift for the kids in the form of an picnic table! Just the perfect gift for our impending Summer! It’s just gorgeous!
11132046_784867978265362_1859138306_nI can see many alfresco style dinners and picnic lunches being enjoyed on this little number!
11116039_784867801598713_1064806364_nBunny ears are a must at the table over Easter! How cute are those ears though! Also the weather was so good at one point the kids demanded they be soaked and the darling man didn’t need to be told twice! Between you & me…I think he enjoyed doing it as much as the kids enjoyed having it done on them!
DSC_8406 DSC_8411Pure happy faces right there – you can’t buy those sort of smiles.
DSC_8418Would you believe the kids demanded a secondary soaking! Little crazies! Annabelle of course found her older siblings squealing, dancing about and dripping wet clothes quite amusing!

Then, quite naturally Annabelle took it upon herself to get soaked too, only by her own hand.
DSC_8453She’s such a funny girl – although judging by her face I don’t think she found being wet as fun as her older siblings! Is it bad her face in this photo makes me chuckle?
DSC_8465So that was our Easter. Apologies for the epic photo dump {I even had to hold onto a few!}. I’m just pleased the children had one good week of Easter holidays {including the amazing weather we’ve had!} and we managed to {through being ill} give them some great memories too. As making memories when your family is what it’s all about.

Great photos. Love the one of Annabelle wet! Cute.

Looks like you did a brilliant easter hunt for them, and I love that picnic table. We need one for our garden (well, a normal sized one), although N would love his own like this.
