The Ordinary Moments – Mothers day

This year Mothers exceeded my expectations. I always try to treat special days, such as Mothers day etc, like any other day. Laundry won’t do itself, the dishes won’t either and someone, somewhere will always demand their Mama. Being the Queen Bee of the home means it’s pretty damn hard to get a moments peace, but that’s OK. I’m at peace with that. But yesterday was a day of being waited on hand & foot, fed, showered in love and presents and generally the entire day was made of everything good in the world.

Here’s how my day was with a few photos:

This breakfast will go down in the history {thus far} as being the first.ever.breakfast the darling man has ever fried up! This is his first attempt at a fry up and he did an epic job {even if he wasn’t keen to attempt to fry an egg, lol}.
It was amazing and I loved us all being piled onto the bed, happily filling our faces. Oh, and having my baby girl toddle in to give me a bunch of flowers made me well up too. Have you ever tried to eat your breakfast through blurry eyes? It’s not easy!

This mug will also go down as my favourite mug in the entire world, because, my teenage boys bought it for me. Teenagers you understand are a breed of human all of their own. My two boys tend to just ask for money and gifts are rarely bought. But the older they get I think they’re starting to get it, and for them to go out unprompted, to buy me this gorgeous cup {it came with a sweet little teddy bear too} means the absolute world to me.

As you can see, I got ridiculously spoiled!! And between you and me? Unwrapping the 3D Doctor who frames that was bought for my blogging corner did make me squeal with delight. I’m such a nerd and I’m no even sorry.

Shamefully this was the only photo I tried to take of us all and it was missing a huge portion of us. Such a fail! #facepalm

Also, what a way to end the day! Chase Vodka kindly sent me out an adorable little book case of miniature bottles, and have never trying gin before, so I knew this had to be the first one to try. Needless to say, it was delicious!

As ordinary moments go, my Mothers day was an amazing one – I even napped! Obviously, I didn’t lie-in and nap {because that would be ripping the backend of it, right?}. Obviously, kids being kids, lie-ins are a rarity for me, but getting that nap in was pretty epic!

My darling man made it all happen, so no doubt I’ll have to put my thinking cap on for ways to make his Fathers day just as good as he helped to make my Mothers day! He’s a good man that one. Also, all of the delicious chocolate will have to wait {torture!} as I’m a DECHOX {you can read more about that here}.

Oh how lovely! My little boys were total ragbags and refused to make me a card or gift with their daddy, though when they realised I had chocolate they soon changed their mind and got the craft glue out haha! H x
