October blog goals! {& social media goals too!}

Last month I shared my September blog goals and shared the news that I reached 4k followers on my Instagram. That was all amazing & super exciting. However, it’s no longer September, but October {how scary is that!} and I thought I’d share a few goals that I have set for myself over the next five weeks.

But first, let me give you a little insight to how I have been getting on with the goals I set for myself last month, which were: Scheduling 2 posts per week, falling back in love with photography & commenting on 5 blogs per day.

I’ve actually surprised myself because I’ve been ticking off of my goals nicely {bar one but more on that in a moment}. I’ve made sure that I take the time out to stick to them; however, regarding the falling back in love with photography one, that is proving a little tricky. I love my DSLR, she’s an old girl {Nikon D3000 with a standard 18-55mm lens} but she’s too bulky to carry around. So I invested in a little Nikon Coolpix S6000 {with a flip screen} to allow me to vlog better {when I finally get into it} but sadly the quality of the images aren’t up to scratch with my DSLR. Dilemma!

So I’m a little stuck. If you have ay advice for me, please do leave me a wee comment below because falling back in love with taking photos is a real priority for me. Thanks in advance! Mwah!

Now, for my October goals:

Get rid of broken links: Broken links are such a pain aren’t they! I seem to get quite a few of them every day that is popping up and over the last few weeks removing them have been quite low on my list. So October will see me keeping on top of removing those little beggars because they can really be hazardous to your blogs ratings. Or at least, so I was told!

Be consistent: If there is one thing that I am not, it’s consistent. I tend to be a type-it-up-and-publish-right-there-and-then sort of blogger. But I feel like consistency is key here. Especially in the blogging community. So I plan to publish my posts on certain days {with the exception of the odd #sp post} and I think that will help my readers to connect me with sharing a new post on a particular day. Thus {hopefully} them heading over to give it a read.

Finally set up a newsletter: I bought a MailChimp template months ago and I have yet to even take the time out to figure it out, create a newsletter or anything. Shameful, right? So I think it’s about time I did that and that brings me to my next October goal…

To reach 3000 likes on Facebook: Currently, I am sitting on 2879, I need to gain 121 likes in five weeks. If I go about it in the right way, in a smart way, it’s totally do-able, right? I think so. I just need to come up with a few ways to get my wee Facebook page noticed more thus gaining more followers.

To reach 10k on Twitter: Now, even I think this is an adventurous one, because currently, my twitter followers are at 9647. Leaving me to gain 353 new followers to gain in five weeks. Much like facebook, I’m going to need to think of a few smart ways to gain these new followers. Reaching 10k on my Twitter would be a pretty amazing milestone.

So there we go five goals for five weeks. Looking at my October goals they’re actually pretty intense! But I hope my drive and determination to reach them will help me, even if I don’t achieve them {especially those social media goals!}, at least I’ll be closer than I was a month ago. Silver lining!

Until next time,

D xx

    I love that you set goals and this is something I should really do more of. It made me laugh that you have broken links on your list – this is something I’m sure more bloggers have on their todo lists and never get around to! x

      I think we need to set goals, I know I need to have them because if we don’t it just falls into chaos….from my personal experience, lol. Broken links are sneaky little sods and crop up all the time, so making sure you keep on top of them on a monthly basis I think is a super thing to do. x

    Great goals. No advice in the photography. I’m all for scheduling posts which I’m not great at either. Good luck x
