My Blog & Life goal resolutions for 2017

I’m just going to dive right in and say that I’m not normally a new year resolutions sort of gal. Because, if we’re all completely honest here, how long do we actually keep them up for? Honestly! I know I’ve started health plans or life goals in the past and they’ve never seen March nevermind the end of the year! So this year, for starters, I’m going to be a realist. I’m going to set myself perfectly doable and easy-to-stick-to plans and I’ll cross everything that I can see them through.

I hope to be able to organise and stay on top of two things; My home & my blog. Both are a disorganised, dysfunctional mess and quite frankly, both have this knack of making me want to scream at the top of my lungs when times get a little tough. However, with the help of my new daily planner; sprinkled with a touch of optimism {& a dash of positivity}, I plan to make it…work!

So, for starters; my home life. In a nutshell, it’s pretty mental. Lots of little humans running around, people not picking up after themselves, the arguing and so on. Which is why I’ve decided to go with {again} and hopefully stick to the chore chart solution. The idea of everyone having their own little jobs to do around the house means this Mama bear won’t feel as though she is drowning in things-needing-to-be-done!

That’s pretty much all my home life needs, a little more involvement from everyone else to make my life as the Captain of the ship, a little easier. So I guess that jumps us straight into my blog life; which feels so detached and tangled right now and it also feels like a little boat sailing on her own with no dock to call her own. And by saying that I am referring to my blog’s niche. Currently, it’s Family & Lifestyle and I think I fall into those categories but sometimes I feel as though it doesn’t. So that will be something I work on throughout 2017 for a start.

Secondly, I’d like to publish a post on certain days. My posts would be a lot like buses! You know, one is due but doesn’t come along and then all of a sudden you get three at once? Well, that’s my blogging, or was because clearly, I’m trying to evolve as a more organised and planned blogger!

I’d also like to perfect my photography and now that I type that I am pretty sure I wanted to achieve that throughout 2016; I’ll not lie, that failed! So fingers crossed I can dedicate myself to it this year; I may even give the 365 photo project a go too! Adventurous I know, but surely it can’t be that hard. Famous last words?

So, other than some chore charts, a little organisation, planning & progression in my photography I guess that sums up my goals for 2017! On top of those {now that I’ve had a moment} I would like to lose the weight I’ve gained following our wedding day! But I reckon I’ll leave that for another post.

Do you have any 2017 goals that you’d like to share? I’d love to hear all about them. Make sure to leave them in the comments below!

Until next time,

D xx

2017 Is the year of goal setting! We’ve set some household goals. Overhaul the ensuite bathroom. After 6 years of saying we’re going to do it, we’re going to do it. Fix the draughty doors, again it’s 6 years of putting it off that is coming to an end.
Blog wise we set ours up last year aimlessly to create a life diary for our family. The more we got into it the more we could see areas to improve. By the end of the year we’re hoping to get 4,000 page views per month!
