My weekend in Palma with Travelsupermarket – Part 2

Palma-Travelsupermarket.com
Every time I look at the photos I took whilst out in Palma, I’d be fibbing if I didn’t feel a little emotional. Ok, so I was only out there for two days but those two days were amazing. Nothing but relaxation before me and sunny skies. Sigh. Actual bliss.
I recently wrote about the first day in Palma with Travelsupermarket and if you missed that post you can find that here. This is what we got up to on Day#2 and I will forever look back on my experiences on this day with a smile on my face.

My day started around 0500hrs {which was around 4 am UK time – ouch right?} and I opened my eyes to a view that completely blew me away. In N.I, we don’t get the chance to see many stars, so to have the privilege to wake up to the sound of crickets, stars and the most stunning twilight skies; I just had to wrap myself up in a blanket and sit out on our balcony to enjoy it more.

The sun began to rise around 7 am and it’s sounds really, really lame…but I’ve never watched a sunrise before. So being able to watch it wake up the resort of Lletas, Palma with it’s stunning rays was, for me, something else.

Stunning right?

So with my day already beginning on a magnificent high, it was time for breakfast before heading to our activity for the morning that was kindly set up for us to enjoy during our stay in Palma.

The breakfast buffet at the Bonanza Playa Hotel was quite literally out of this world. They had everything. Literally. Amy and I only had about 20mins to eat before we had to run but in those 20 mins we sat in the morning sunlight, with mediterranean sea views and indulged in pancakes, bacon & maple syrup with a side order of pastries. Absolutely gorgeous.

Travelsupermarket arranged for us to go on a Catamaran excursion with Attraction Catamarans. After a little online research of this excursion, I honestly couldn’t wait to get on board.

We were picked up by coach at our hotel at 0845am on Saturday morning and after a few other stops to pick up other people we arrived at the Marina De Palma where we’d soon be boarding our vessel for the morning.

We were greeted on board by the lovely crew and Amy and I found the a space to call our own during the half-day cruise.

Being able to just sit and enjoy the music that played on-board, the chatter of excited folk around us, the views and the sun beating down on us was just the most amazingly relaxing experience.

The driver on board told us all about the landmarks we passed and we even caught a glimpse of the stunning Palma Cathedral. We sailed for about 2hrs before making our first stop of the morning. We stopped a short distance from a beautiful cove that even had a little beach and in all my life, I’d never seen seas so blue.

We were able to get out and have a swim in the stunningly blue-green Balearic sea. Let me tell you, regardless of the almost 30-degree heat, that water was cold!!

Before heading off on this trip, I made sure to pack my Swimcell, which I was kindly gifted to review during my trip to Palma. It’s a 100% waterproof case for either a small camera or a phone. I was sent out the large version of the Swimcell due to my camera phone being a bit of a beast! If anyone else as a Samsung Galaxy K Zoom, you’ll know what I mean {and love it as much as I do too!}.

I was so impressed with how compact and lightweight my Swimcell was, even taking into consideration mine was a larger case. I was also very surprised how true the 100% waterproof factor was too. I can always be a bit of a skeptic that water will always find it’s way in. But with this, not a drop!

I felt so at ease wearing my phone around my neck in the Swim cell waterproof case, prior to my jumping into Balearic sea. I knew my phone was going to be safe and dry as I swam to shore {and back again}.

My aim was to take some amazing underwater photos, but I didn’t take into consideration the sea. I think we tend to underestimate her a lot don’t we? Anyways, I found it incredibly difficult to duck under and snap anything that wasn’t blurred. I even struggled to keep myself afloat against the current to take any sharable photos really which was a shame.

I did learn one thing though, that not only is the Balearic seas horrifically salty {I honestly thought I was going to shrivel up from the inside out at one point, lol} but I certainly need lots more practice at taking underwater photos. Once I’ve cracked it, I’ll share, but just know this….the Swimcell is amazing. My phone stayed dry as it floated next to me as I swam over to the cove and I managed to get a fun photo of Amy & I.

And even our boat in the distance after our swim…

Swimcell have a great range of 100% waterproof cases for small phones, larger phones and even for small & larger tablets. They come in a fun range of colours and all for a great price too. I love my Swimcell and wouldn’t be without it when we go on holiday.

Once we swam back and boarded the boat again it didn’t take us long to dry off, grab ourselves a cheeky mojito {which was my first time trying them!} and shortly started sailing again.

After another while sailing, it was time for food. The food is covered in the cost of your ticket, along with soft drinks which I think is pretty amazing. We were pretty hungry and seeing the spread Attraction Catamarans put on was pretty great.

With a great selection of meat, seafood, pasta, bread and more you wouldn’t go hungry. There was also a great surprise of a selection of fruits for afters!

In what felt like no time at all we found ourselves homeward bound. I felt completely relaxed and stress-free and that’s a feeling a Super Busy Mum doesn’t feel very often! Before docking back at the Marina De Palma, the crew kindly showed us round the Palma harbour, known as the biggest harbour in the world for some of the biggest sailing ships and cruise liners.

We even had the privilege to watch a ship that dated back to the 1700s and was still in perfect working order to this day!

This excursion with Attraction Catamarans is something everyone must do if and when you visit Palma. It costs around 49 euro and in my opinion worth every single cent. It truly was something else and something I’m sure I’ll rave about for years to come.

For the rest of our day we dined, we swam, we sunbathed and even enjoyed some night time entertainment down at the hotel bar by the pool to enjoy our final evening in the gorgeous resort of Lletas, Palma.

I never thought, before this trip, that you could visit somewhere like Palma for a weekend. But after my experience I have been proven wrong as it makes for the perfect two-day getaway and there are loads to do.

This trip was amazing, and a true ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity and I am so thankful for Travelsupermarket choosing me and my best friend Amy from In My Bubble to go to help them promote their #SuperCityBreaks campaign. You can check out some of their great deals here

Disclosure: I was sent to Palma by Travelsupermarket.com to review my experience. All thoughts, photos and opinions are my own.

I always thought the same – you can’t do much in two days – but this looks absolutely amazing! Chris and I were wanting to plan a 2 or 3 night city break away from the kids as we thought a week or more would be far too long but now I’m seriously considering something like this!

When I read the 4am start bit, I almost cried…Then I saw the amazing sunrise and instantly relaxed haha, how beautiful is it over there, such gorgeous scenery and blue water too! I’m not sure 2 days would’ve been enough for me, would’ve clung onto one of the boats and hope no-one noticed I was missing! Haha x

I’ve only ever been to the airport at Palma, and that’s not up to much compared to UK airports! Looks like the boat trip was perfect, and sounds like Palma’s a great place for a weekend break.
