Kirby: Planet Robobot Game Review for the Nintendo 3DS

Ever since we were made Nintendo Family Ambassadors earlier this year we have brought you some super fun game reviews for the Nintendo 3DS. Games such as Hyrule Warriors: Legends, YoKai Watch and now in this post, I bring you a game review for the newly released Kirby: Planet Robobot 3DS game from Nintendo.

Kirby: Planet Robobot {RRP £34.99} is a super fun 3DS action platform game and a great addition to the Kirby series. The latest addition being, in this game, that you can harness the power of the mysterious mech warrior suit to defeat invaders from destroying Kirby’s Homeworld.

The Kirby Robobot armor can shape-shift into different modes by scanning enemies to copy and mimic their moves. Quite a nifty trick up his robotic suit sleeve if you ask me! However, like the previous Kirby games, Kirby can still copy abilities from his enemies the ‘old-fashioned way’, by inhaling them. However in this new game, Kirby brings along 3 new copy abilities: ESP, Poison & Doctor.

The power suit allows you to smash through obstacles with ease, heavy objects can be lifted easily and as mentioned before, Kirby can shape-shift into his enemies by simply scanning them. A really fun, super-charged action platform game for the Nintendo 3DS.

To say that my kids love this game would be an understatement. They love how you can collect items from your enemies, like power ups etc. They love that you can fly as well as when you inhale someone while wearing the robobot armour that the suit changes colour. They also love that Amiibo’s are compatible for the new Kirby game and have already been looking at a few to put on a festive list for later in the year.

I love games that include more than just the main adventure and have mini-games to enjoy too. Kirby: Planet Robobot is no different as you can play with friends in Team Kirby Clash to take on some big bosses or you can check out Kirby 3D Rumble. From the mouths of my children, “they’re both SUPER fun to play!”.

Kirby 3D Rumble is a single player were you need to control Kirby as he walks along a 3D plane, shooting waves of enemies as quickly as he {or YOU} can. Team Kirby Clash is an RPG action mini-game that allows up to 4 players to play at one time. Each player chooses their own character class and they {you} must work together to defeat big bosses. Earning some delicious XP along the way.

If you are just a gaming whizz and complete the main adventure, you unlock two additional modes, known as; Meta Knightmare Returns, which is basically you fighting in a harder version of the main adventure & The Arena is you & some friends fight through a selection of tough bosses with limited healing.

It’s all good fun and the game overall is super charming. I love it, the kids love it and it’s currently the most played game EVER in this house.

Disclosure: As a Nintendo Family Blogger Ambassador, I was sent this game for the purpose of my review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
