Inspiring, Fun & Emotional – Britmums Live 2015

When my darling man surprised me with my Britmums Live 2015 ticket as part of my Christmas box, I was so stoked! It was such a thoughtful gift of him to think of.  He knows how much my blog & growing my blog means to me. He is also in-the-know, that attending something like Britmums can help me learn more to help my blogs future. I have so many fond memories of my time at Britmums Live last year that I was SO excited to be going to Britmums Live 2015 and I could.not.wait!

This year I wasn’t a ‘first timer’, as that’s one hell of a scary and very overwhelming experience. This year I was prepared. I knew just what to expect and I felt confident, which in itself, was a really lovely feeling.
On the morning of my flight I met up with my gorgeous friend Rebecca from Mrs Mumsie and our journey began…
Britmums1We flew from Belfast over to London Luton, where we met up with our other equally gorgeous friend Amy from In My Bubble & our journey continued…
Britmums2We got a little lost in London, which I guess is natural because the place is insanely huge & busy, so it’s easy to get spun around and lose all sense of direction. However, at a random tube station, we bumped into the lovely Emma Harris from @MeTheManAndKids , never met the woman before but she recognised me which was lovely and we all helped each other out trying to find our way to our hotels. It was quite comical! We waved bye to Emma, as she was at a different hotel, but we’d be seeing her later for pizza!
Britmums3But once at the Brewery in London, we got down to being inspired, chatting to brands, being emotional and everything in between!
20150619_151127Carol Smillie was one of our key note speakers and she really is lovely! Never did I think later that weekend I’d be #TalkingPants with her!!
20150619_192924 I loved the classes this year. I learned so much more than I did last year and that alone excited me. This year I was able to come away feeling refuelled, inspired, fired up and generally excited about my blog and what I now knew to make her better. Not to sound to nerdy but I was keen to get home & get to work!
Britmums4The sessions I attended this year were:

Turning pitches into profits with the lovely A Mummy Too.
How successful bloggers do it with HonestMum, EnglishMum & Knackered Mothers Wine Club.
Social Media Optimisation with RedTedArt, AliClifford.com.
Creating graphics for your blog with Julie Hall.
How to market yourself & your writing with Joanne at thecreativepenn.
Photo styling for your blog picture & instagram with Apartment Apothecary.
IMG_20150621_124020I loved every single session. I barely stopped taking notes and being inspired by the people before me. The rooms were always so bunged and it was a real pleasure to be sitting among a sea of great bloggers, experienced and new.
IMG_20150621_124410One thing I never expected to happen over the Britmums Live weekend was to take part in trying to break an actual Guiness World Record. How utterly bonkers is that! But guess what? We did! We won the award for the most wrapped Mummies in 3 minutes, and guess what? I was one of those Mummies!
Britmums5I got to see loads of people I now consider good friends, who I talk to almost on a daily basis whether it be via facebook, twitter, instagram or on my blog. It’s so wonderful how friendships have been made through blogging. It really is quite amazing.
I loved getting to {finally!} meet the beautiful Colette from Going on an Adventure! Awesome lady! Plus she knows how to rock a red lippy! I got to hang out with my gorgeous friends Jade from Late for Reality & the beautiful Lucy from Mrs Bishop Bakes & Banter, then not leaving out the delightful Emma from Life according to Mrs Shilts. We met very briefly last year, so it was awesome being able to get to know her better this year.
Britmums 6I enjoyed meeting a few new Daddy bloggers this year, it’s so awesome to see the band of Dads getting bigger & bigger every year. It was a pleasure to meet for the first time, The DADventurer, Martyns Thoughts, Dad Creek, Papa_Tont, & Slouching Thatchem. Lovely bunch of guys!

Also, when the ‘BIG’ bloggers {as I like to call them}, for example the beautiful & sweet Katie from Mummy Daddy Me {I recall a very random conversation about the utterly terrifying Twirly Woos!} & Lucy from Captured by Lucy…when they know who YOU are…dish out hugs etc, you can get a little starstruck! Dorky I know, but it’s a true story folks! Photos next year with you ladies! It has to happen! 😉

The weekend was crazy, inspiring, SUPER BUSY {although a little quieter than last year – but just as manic}, insightful, emotional and more. It was amazing.

If you’ve never been to Britmums – GO!  If you do go, eat at a little place called Jane Roe Kitchen – trust me…it’s A-mazing! And without the DOUBT the best burger I’ve EVER had. Fact!
Britmums8Britmums10I was cornered to have make up put on me {hotel room banter}, I think I snarled a few times, lol! I wore a dress {I forgot my skinny jeans!}, did a wee video sketch for Carol Smillie on her amazing Diary Doll protective panties!
Went a journey with the beautiful Caprice as she told her story & cried at the life events of others. I laughed so hard on occasion with friends that it hurt & had overall, the BEST time.
Britmums7 Britmums9I just want to say a HUGE thank you to anyone who recognised me, came up to me and said hello. I am so awful with putting faces to blogs, I blame my Daddy’s genetics for the bad memory! But thank you! It was amazing to meet you all! Sorry if I missed anyone….hopefully we can cross paths next year!

This blogger had an amazing few days away and I am already excited for Britmums 2016! Aren’t you??

I remember seeing you a rood the court yard and running up to you saying hello and almost thrusting my name tag in your face before hugging you.

I apologise for this, it was the free wine on a empty stomach which made me a little more confident then I normally am lol

It was great seeing you though and I hope in future we get the chance to talk more 🙂

The thought of going to Britmums TERRIFIES me! But you’ve made it sound really fun, like a girls night out! I think it helps you’ve made blogger friends first and then gone in together. Maybe I’ll be brave enough to go next year! #MMWBH Sabrina xx
