I’m on a DeCHOX!

Dechox for British Heart Foundation
As I was scrolling facebook one evening, like we do, and I saw this advert from the British Heart Foundation to encourage us to join in on their new fundraising De-CHOX campaign. The campaign is asking us to give up everything chocolate related throughout the month of March; so we’d be on a De-CHOX – get it? Chuckle…

Anyways I signed up there and then because the BHF is a charity very dear to my heart {excuse the pun!}.

Dechox with the british heart foundation
My niece, my beautiful {now 5} niece was born with only half a heart and in her 5yrs on this planet has endured and overcome several open heart surgeries. She’s seriously kick-ass you understand.

So I am doing this DECHOX challenge for her, and for all of her little CHD champions around the UK. Because let’s face it, giving up something as minute as chocolate for one month, is nothing compared to what those little folk have endured and overcome. Nothing compared.

So this post is to help me ask you for YOUR help. Can you spare £1 to donate to a very worthwhile cause? £1 is the cost of the average chocolate bar nowadays {as outrageous as that is!} – but instead of buying yourself a chocolate bar today, donate that £1 to the British Heart Foundation. Sponsor me to seeing myself being chocolate free in March and raising money for an outstanding charity.

You can find the link to my JustGiving page Super Busy Mum is dechoxing right here and please, whatever you can donate, even one single pound makes all the difference. If you do donate please do not forget to tick the gift aid box too! Every penny we can raise towards such an amazing charity is crucial. Can’t let the tax man keep it all, huh!

Here’s a little video that I should have shared before starting as I made it the day before my dechox all kicked off. Now we’re on Day#8 and minus a few cravings for sweet things, Haribo and digestive {chocolate free ones} biscuits are seeing me right.

Thank you so so much for your support and donations – I truly appreciate it from every single one of you.

Could you go without chocolate for a whole month?

Oh wow your niece is beautiful and this is such a worthy cause. I actually signed up for this last month and completely forgot about it. Ironically I remembered as I was scrolling through my FB news feed whilst chomping on a Yorkie bar, so in answer to your question, no, I couldn’t survive without chocolate for even a day!!! #MMWBH

Sounds like a worthy cause and you’re right, something that should be so easy and simple to do in relation to what people like your niece have had to go through. She looks like a little fighter. Good luck with your mission. Thanks for hosting #mmwbh x
