Furby Connect Review with Hasbro

Furby Connect Review with Hasbro

When we were told we were being sent out the new Furby Connect to review, I’d be lying if I wasn’t a little dubious. We had the Furby Boom from last year’s top toy list and the fun of the product didn’t last very long. However, as soon as the Furby Connect arrived on our doorstep we all sort of fell in love.

Once we opened the box we all sighed with a big harmoniousΒ “Awww!” and I know that may sound mega cheesy, but we did! The Furby ConnectΒ is so much cuter than the previous Boom model and we were keen to get him/her set up. The one thing I absolutely loved about the Furby Connect was its versatility to get connected. With the previous model you needed an iPad, but with the Furby Connect you can connect it up with an iPhone or Android and all via Bluetooth.

Once we put batteries into our Furby Connect, it came to life and we were amazed by the colourful eye animations {there are 150+}. We downloaded theΒ Furby Connect World app and once we were paired up with Bluetooth and once we heard “We’re Connected!” from our Furby, we were ready to rock

Before you even get into the game side of this interactive toy, there are lots of things you can do to interact with your Furby. Such as tickling his tummy, moving his antenna, you can feed him with your finger, tilt or turn him upside down, play music for your Furby and even introduce your Furby to other Furby friends.

On the game side of the Furby Connect, there is a whole new world of fun to delve into. You can watch videos with your Furby, you can feed him/her and you can even hatch furblings too. From hatching the eggs to having to crack them by hand {or, tapping your finger on the screen to break the shell of the egg} and generally taking care of all of your little furblingsΒ too.

There are many things that are very cool about this product and after having quite a few moments of hearing the previous Furby Boom wake up and chat to….who knows.…in the dead of night, I am pretty stoked to see the Furby Connect come with a sleep mask. The sleep mask fits over the little button in the middle of the Furbys forehead and it puts him to sleep. He’ll say something cute like “Later Bestie!” or “I’ll be back!” before snoring a few times and going silent.

The Furby Connect gets updates too, so he/she will actually learn new phrases and songs, which is a great addition to this Furby product. I also love how interactive you need to be with the Furby whilst playing the Furby World app. You need to hilariously hold him over the toilet {yes, you heard me right} and gently squeeze his sides to help him poop. Gross, I know. But it is pretty funny, and the kids love it.

To feed your Furby you can go to the huge cannon within the Furby World app, choose his food and fling it towards him. He’ll then happily munch and chew while making all sorts of happy noises. Our Furby has also complained of having something stuck in his throat, and to fix it we were told you need to put your finger on his tongue to help him bring it up, this results in him barfing over the screen of your phone {which you swipe to clean}. Again, gross, but pretty funny and again, the kids love it.

Now, for the price. At first, I heard rumours of it costing a shocking Β£99! Which, regardless of the play my kids will {and do} get from this product, I personally would not spend that on a toy. However, I have found it for Β£69.99 which I think is much more reasonable and a price that I would happily consider spending.

All in all, we are huge fans of the Furby Connect. He’s lots of fun and there are lots of things to do to stay tuned into everything Furby! Whether it is talking to him, caring for Furblings or even learning some of the furbish dictionary {provided in the ‘Getting started’ leaflet!}. The kids love everything about him and as a parent, I love that he comes with a sleep mask! It’s like a little bonus feature! πŸ˜‰

Disclosure: I was sent this Furby Connect for the purpose of my review. All thoughts, photos and opinions are entirely my own.Β

    • I’ve never had any issues with our Furby Connect Elaina, so I cannot comment. All I can advise is to possible uninstall the app, reinstall it and go from there.
