An egg-cellent Easter break!

That’s it, folks. The Easter break is over. Done. Finished.

It has been such a fabulous fortnight with the kids because we have been all over the place. It’s a good job I saved up too because the amount I spent would make you weep. I think for future school holidays I’ll do more research on free days out to do with the kids as well. But, in hindsight, we had a pretty epic Easter.

We had days out, chill days to recover from the days out because Mummy here doesn’t do things by halves! I’m a lot like my late Mother that way because we are both {were, in her case} ‘Go big or go home’ kind of gals!

We visited the W5 centre in the Odyssey Pavilion, Belfast….twice. Once for the Easter event, they had on. Were we coloured in our own EggHead Aliens to race against each other {in wheeled UFO’s} in a Space race. It was a lot of fun actually. The ‘Climb it’ is also a big hit with the kids at W5. Not so much for my 11yr old because she’s too big for it, but the little ones love it and have absolutely no fear when venturing to the top.We visited Lisburn for a LEGO workshop with Bricks4Kidz which was in amongst the Easter event based in the Market Square. Along with a small petting zoo, fun LEGO characters to pose with and a few other things. We also enjoyed a swim in the Laganside Leisureplex were my youngest daughter has gained so much water confidence that I was more nervous than she was. She is now a pro at doing the lazy river ‘hands-free’. However, when I say hands-free my hands weren’t two inches from her waist. More for my peace of mind than for hers!
We made our first ever Easter tree. I’m also not ashamed to admit that ours is still up because I think it is far too pretty to take down just yet. We played hide and seek in the dark at home. By torchlight. This wasn’t creepy at all! But the kids found it to be heaps of fun so that’s now become a regular game to play when it’s dark. Wonderful.

We visited multiple petting zoos at both Victoria Square and The MAC in Belfast; held countless fluffy yellow chicks, snakes {not quite so fluffy} and did an insane amount of Easter egg hunts too.

Sadly, I got a little adventurous because out of the four repaint jobs {kitchen, hallway and both bathrooms} that I wanted to get done, I only managed one. I cannot believe our kitchen took me an entire week to do. I thought I could get it done in two/three days tops! How naive was I! I guess the other three jobs I can now get done when the kids are at school. I’ll be sharing a post soon after the final few touches have gone in.So, that was our Easter. It was full-on, insanely busy and lots of fun! Now, let the Summer holidays come in thick and fast please and we want to do all of that again and more!

How was your Easter?
