DIY Kids Chalkboard Gallery!

I finished this kids chalkboard project ages ago, so forgive me for only getting round to now, to share it with you guys. Quite a few months ago I was sent out a few Rustoleum products to try. The Chalkboard paint & the Magnetic Primer.

I had just the thing in mind for these two products and it was something I had in the pipeline to do for a wee while. I even had the perfect space picked out for it too.

I decided to make a chalkboard wall for the kids, mainly the toddler because she’s been going through a stage of drawing on the walls. Don’t they all go through that stage! Ugh…it’s a nightmare! So I figured giving her a space to draw on the walls would be a fun concept. Has it stopped her drawing on other pieces of the wall around the house? I’d like to say yes! But what can I say, she’s a toddler embracing her creative side.

With the chalkboard paint, I have to say, I was very impressed how easier it applied to the wall and how quickly it dried. This chalkboard wall needed two coats and honestly, each application dried within 30 mins!

I figured adding the bunting was a cute idea. Separating the frames from the art wall sort of idea. This bunting was actually in Annabelles 2nd birthday party box! Talk about giving an unused item a purpose huh!

These really fun prints were all found online, I saved them and literally just had them printed from my local Harvey Norman. {Yes, Harvey Norman print photos and for cheap too!}

It’s safe to say the making this little Chalkboard corner for the kids has been one of my better ideas. The chalkboard paint I used was excellent, and so little of it was used for this project that I have used it for others {travel chalkboards & so on}. I’ve yet to even TRY the magnetic primer truth be told, but once I do, I’ll make sure to share my thoughts with you guys!

Do you have a Chalkboard wall up in your home? Is it a big hit?

    That looks fantastic! I would love a chalk wall but we live in a rented house & I don’t think the landlord would appreciate it.

    This is such a brilliant idea! We have a chalk board that we’ve stuck on our wall in the kitchen but we were thinking of painting a wall in my little ones nursery but weren’t sure how well it would work. I love how you’ve done half a wall and put the art work above. It’s so creative! You can even leave them little message on the wall! 😀 I love it. xx #twinklytuesday

    I love this! It looks so pretty with tenge bunting. I’d really like one in our house, but I’m worried it might encourage them to start drawing on walls elsewhere. Have you found this has happened at all? Your home looks very neat and ordered, nice decor too xxx #TwinklyTuesday Noah & the Girls
