Celebrations, cake and turning eight

This week, my youngest son….my little dreamboat turned eight years old. Eight. It’s so hard to believe. He is no longer my little deliriously adorable boy, but a {deliriously adorable} young man who is growing up to know what he loves and wants out of life.

His eighth birthday started with presents {naturally} and this year he asked for four things. He really wanted a Northern Ireland football kit, Christiano Ronaldo VR trainers, Fifa 16′ {which his Dad bought him} & a Gaming chair.

As well as the gift opening and testing out his new chair {which consisted of telling us how comfortable it was and spinning around}, I allowed them all to have warm sponge fresh from the oven. It was his birthday! Naughty treats are allowed on birthdays, even for breakfast!

Shortly after breakfast, everything was ready for the guests to arrive. The last few years I have done little at-home parties for the kids {call me crazy!} and he just had a few close friends round for football, Fifa on the Xbox and cake. What more do they need!

A whirlwind couple of hours passed with many kettles boiled, several cups of tea drunk and candles blown out. It was lots of fun and Jacob has the best time.

Before long we found ourselves onto the next leg of Jacobs birthday celebrations. At the birthday boys request we were to have dinner at his favourite restaurant in Belfast City, Cosmo. Personally, I think it’s the chocolate fountain that has made him fall in love with this place, but, who were we to deny the birthday boy his wish.

We had such a lovely meal together. Jacob filled his plate and was constantly telling us all about little football tricks he was learning from his new Fifa 16′ game, which, according to him is the best.game.ever. He was also gushing over his new buys from spending his birthday money!

After dinner, we spent a little time exploring the latest ‘Around the World’ in Victoria Square, Belfast. There were fun sights for the children to enjoy and after a good hour playing with {and on} everything, we started our journey home. We all had full bellies, happy faces and new memories stored in our hearts.

Jacob had a wonderful day and I feel honoured to call that deliriously adorable little guy, mine.
