Bye Bye Stabilizers!

JACOB CAN NOW RIDE HIS BIKE WITH NO STABILIZERS!!!

Sorry…that sort of epic news just had to be yelled from the blogging rooftops, because this is one heck of a proud Mama bear! I honestly never thought I’d see the day, because he had so many issues with his confidence and constantly saying that he couldn’t do it {when really, under all of that fear, he could…with bells on!}

For quite a few weeks now I’ve had the spanners at the ready to remove those stabilizers, but for some cosmic reason it was never done and another few weeks would flitter by. Until the other evening when I turned my head to everything else and took them off his little bike.

I’ll not lie, I was bricking it! But I took charge of the moment, in my heart I knew he was ready and I hoped he would think the same. Thankfully as soon as he laid eyes on his bike that next morning, he instantly ran upstairs to get dressed and to pop outside for a few laps on his stabilizer-less bike.

I cannot tell you how proud I am of this little guy. I think trying to keep those stabilizers on for a little while longer, was my way of trying to keep old of my little boy. When it’s so clear he’s not so little anymore.

    Good thinking Mum, and it paid off – look at him go! Well done to little Jacob, a very proud Mummy moment. Thanks for linking up and sharing with Country Kids.

    Ahhh a huge done to him. It is no easy feat and it is a huge milestone. I remember when I finally learned how to ride a bike properly. There was no stopping me after that. I hope he has many years of joy on it :)
